Rebekah Nicole Tinsley Klein was the daughter of two of rtp’s founders. She died last year of cancer leaving behind a wonderful husband, two of the world’s greatest small children and a group of loving, dedicated friends. Nobody, NOBODY should go through what Rebekah, family and friends went through because of cancer. That is why a portion of every ticket sold to every rtp performance will be donated to cancer research in the name of the REBEKAH THEATRE PROJECT.
We're working closely with a number of organisations who we hope share our message and goals in the fights against cancer. Going forward for the current show and our future shows we are delighted to partner with the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, who have a chapter here in Chicago.
Members of our company are participating in the 2013 run/walk 'Break the Silence' on Saturday May 4th, you can support them here.
Our partner for our first show was the Foundation of Women’s Cancer which was established by the Society of Gynecologic Oncology primarily to increase funding for gynecologic cancer research. Since that time its mission has expanded to include awareness about the prevention and early detection of cancers unique to women, and education about the optimal treatment for women with a gynecologic cancer diagnosis. Thanks to our audiences we were delighted to raise several hundred dollars to help with their valuable work.
